[MACEP] streaming video

Hello,
Does anyone have experience with building a streaming video/audio server? I 
have two students building one for a senior project and it needs to be 
working and tested for the Nov. 4th election broadcast.
We are going with LINUX. Any help with advice or warnings would be 
appreciated. Also, let me know if my kids can contact you directly?
