We are successfully using Google Calendar to schedule time slots in a similar situation.?
The way we do it is?that a couple of people "own" the calendar and then invite?those who will use the lab via Google email.??
Everybody using the calendar will need a Google account to access the calendar.? Access to the calendar can be?limited to those you invite.?Invitees can be given varying levels of control over the calendar.?
Invitees?access the calendar via the web.? They log in to Google then can access the calendar and schedule whatever they need.??Once set up, it works as a hands off scheduler.??
You can set your lab times as events?and even block out times or dates before opening up access to others.? You can also have multiple calendars as needed.
Take a look at http://www.google.com/intl/en/googlecalendar/tour.html
Hope that helps!

Subject: [MACEP] Tool
Hi, I need some advise.
?
I am opening a computer lab at my site. For reasons of demand, I have to tightly control access to this lab. Folks who need to use it for study or for workshops need to be signed up for access to the lab. So I need a tool that others will have access to so they can sign someone up for the lab or workshop in 1 hour increments. I also need something that won't allow folks to sign up too many people. I've thought of creating an excel worksheet or even a database.
?
Does anyone have have a suggestion for me? I'd like to see if someone has already invented such a thing.
?
Thanks!!
