Friends and Colleagues,


It is with extreme mixed emotions that I am announcing my resignation as Chief Information Officer of Willamette ESD.   I have been presented with an opportunity outside of K-12 in the private sector that fits in with my immediate personal family needs and long term career goals.  It affords me the opportunity to eliminate my current commute of 2 hours a day and spend more time with my family.

Willamette ESD is an outstanding place to work and I am very grateful for the opportunities afforded to me by Superintendent Maureen Casey.     It has been a pleasure to serve schools and districts alongside the amazing  professional staff at WESD.  The past eight years here at WESD have been some of the most rewarding of my career.

It has been a pleasure to serve with you, the IT leaders for Oregon K-12.  We have accomplished a lot together over the last 15+ years.  I look back at the early days of OPEN to where we are now and we have a lot to be proud of.  I am proud to have been able to work with each of you.  I hope that we can stay in touch. My final day at WESD will be September 18th.  Leslie Golden has been selected to serve as the interim Director of Information Services,  effective September 19th.    Leslie is extremely knowledgeable and currently manages many day to day operations for the department.  Prior to coming to WESD, Leslie served as the Director of Technology for the Education Enterprise Steering Committee working with the Oregon Department of Education and the Oregon Association of ESD's partnership.  In addition,  she has been instrumental in rolling out our data warehouse services to more than 130 districts throughout Oregon in her capacity as Technology Operations Manager.  Leslie will be an outstanding addition to the WESD Leadership Team.
