First, try connecting with another laptop to determine if the problem
lies with the laptop or the access point. The other thing to check is
to be sure that the Windows box is is getting both its IP address and
DNS server info correctly. If you can ping the geteway when using its
IP address but can't resolve names, then it may be faulty dns info.
Right click on the connection >> properties >> TCP and make sure that
it's set to pick up DNS info automatically.

Also make sure you don't have some proxy setting in your browser. This
is what usually stumps me until I remember I was at some strange
school and had to enter some strange setting for the proxy.
