Hi All,

I have a small mystery for you all.

With an iBook running with Airport on, I'm able to get immediate and
full connection to the Web via a wireless router... which is set to
be open - no WEP, etc. No problems - everything works.

With a Toshiba laptop running Windows XP, I am able to connect up via
wireless... the network panel in the control panel shows that I'm
getting a 192...03 address assigned - and there's a 192...01
gateway. In other words, it says it's hooked up to the network and
getting what it needs to be active on the Web. However, neither e-
mail nor browser nor pinging anything gets results. No connection is
reported.

So, what am I missing in figuring this out? It was working about a
week ago and then it just stopped... not too frustrating...

Any clues? What should I try to suss this out?

You may reply either on or off list - depending on whether you think
this is something others can learn from...

Cheers,
Mark
