[MACEP] Anyone providing student email?

We are looking into providing students email accounts in our district. This
way they can communicate with each other and with staff.
We're wondering if any other districts are doing this and if so what kinds
of acceptable use polices are in place, how do you deal with bad spam (ie
porn spam), do you even let external email to come to the students. Maybe
any pitfalls you have encountered along the way.
