You know, you're fighting an uphill battle here. If you can find a Mac in your
school district with iMovie, you'll solve a lot of problems in ease of use and
quality of output.
One advantage of the SONY Hi8 format we've found is that kids can bring in old
non-digital family videos and the SONY will convert them to digital, not
necessarily fast, but it avoids having to buy an analog-digital box.
