[MACEP] open office question

Hello all (Paul Nelson),
I was wondering if anyone (Paul Nelson) could direct me to a web site that 
would provide help with Open Office tools. I want to washout a picture to 
use as a background, and I'm just not figuring out how to do this, plus 
other issues that I can easily do in Office type applications. I've been to 
learnopenoffice.org anf openoffice .org and cannot locate the how to do 
this. Any help would be appreciated (Paul Nelson)
