Hello Folks,

One thing I'm doing in my new job is encouraging the use of email with
students. We now have several districts using Google hosted domains
with good results.

I wanted to create a list of guidelines that would help students stay
out of trouble with email and web-based forums. I've posted my common
sense computer rules at:
http://edtech.nwresd.org/?q=node/57 and I'd appreciate your feedback.

You don't need to register to comment but you will be asked to answer
a simple math question.

One other thing I did was post a link to the Oregon technology goals.
What are your thoughts on how well we are doing with these? I heard a
speaker last month who said that instead of poverty becoming the
digital divide as feared a few years ago, instead it was the school
that had taken on that role.

I do agree that many students use more technology in their lives
outside of school than in. Let me know what you think on the site or
via email.

;-) Paul
