I'm pretty impressed with GAYD:  Google Apps for Your Domain.  Make  
up a domain, pay $10, and have Google host EVERYTHING for you.   
(Email, web pages, calendar, IM, individualized start page.)  Why  
reinvent the wheel when there's literally hundreds of savvy Web  
engineers doing it for you?  :-)
