[MACEP] 3" dvd movie to iMovie

Hi All!

Has anyone successfully played a video on a Mac using DVD Player (and/ 
or transferred to iMovie) media recorded directly on  a 3" DVD disk  
from a SONY DVD camcorder?  If so....please help with any advice or  
tips!
