That would be the joy of supporting classic. This is a great
illustration why I think schools should replace classic applications
with OS X native applications. Classic apps are more difficult to
support AND they are slower. Not really a cost effective combination
IMHO.
Generally true, although one still comes across applications that
supposedly run faster in their OS 9 versions (Virtual PC and, I think,
Quark Xpress) but that's like getting sentimental over how the dodo bird
was so much cooler than a chicken in a world where only chickens are
available. The effect of supporting OS 9-only applications on machines
that no longer boot up in OS 9 resembles trying to make cake batter
while reaching through a curtain you can't quite see through or around.
