> Can't decide if this is good news or bad news:

Depends on whether you are a user of FreeHand, Director and(or)
DreamWeaver. Think these will survive long competing with Illustrator,
After Effects and PageMill? Perhaps, but not as Adobe products I would
guess.

I remember when Adobe engulfed and devoured Aldus Corp. They kept
PageMaker, but sold off FreeHand and PhotoStyler. And I think
PageMaker's days are likewise numbered with the new InDesign.

But over-all I think its probably a good move. I have always have
enjoyed the Adobe products, especially the Video Collection. After using
many different NLEs over the years on a variety of platforms, including
the over-rated Avid & user-unfriendly FCP, I find Premiere Pro a perfect
match for my work flow. And its seamless integration with Encore,
Audition, AE and PhotoShop add frosting to an already yummy cake.

My $0.02 worth.
