Last year I received a $3000 grant from the American Radio Relay
League (ARRL) for an amateur radio station through their "Big Project"
http://www.arrl.org/FandES/tbp/ . They sent our school everything we
needed to set up an amateur radio station including a Yaesu
transceiver, antennas, cables, books, power supply, etc. Our station
has been up and running with great success.

They also offered a "Teacher's Institute" last summer at their
headquarters in Conn. We spent an all-expense paid week (air, hotel,
meals, etc.) learning about how to teach wireless technology in the
classroom. We came home with over $2,000 in parallax robots, basic
stamps, support books, lesson plans, receiver kits, electronics kits,
etc.

Both the station grant and the institute are being offer again this
year. The application process was very simple. The excitement and
learning this program has stimulated in our school has been wonderful.
