[MACEP] Internal microphones on iMac G3s

Mary,
If you haven't already, check the Sound Control Panel, hit the Input tab and make sure the iMac is expecting to get input from the Built-in Mic rather than the External Mic or something else. Then try it again.

Do they really work or are ours too dusty and begrimed to function? 
I've tried them with both Power point and Kid Pix.  Is there another 
place to change the settings for them?

When I hooked up Labtec USB mikes, they worked fine but I don't have 
enough for all the computers.
