Hi,
I'm Jim Heynderickx, Director of Technology at Oregon Episcopal School, and I just joined this list. I've been in educational technology for about 20 years, and I work with Pre-K through 12 technology at OES. My last position was at Lowell School in Washington, DC. There's information about the OES Technology Program at http://www.oes.edu/technology/index.htm.
And now, a question for the Mac and Unix mavens-- have there been any discussions about RadMind on this list that I could access via archives? RadMind is an open source tool for the network imagining, updating and maintenance of OS X computers, and we're interested in it because we plan to have about 65 iBooks in the hands of seventh graders next year. It would be nice if we had a centralized imaging and updating system for them all, if RadMind was reliable enough and didn't kill us with set-up and configuration hours. We already use a similar system for PCs on campus with Altiris management software.
Here's the address for RadMind: http://rsug.itd.umich.edu/software/radmind/
Thanks in advance!
